General Information
Ibuprofen is a derivative of propionic acid, and was discovered by Stewart Adams, John Nicholson, Andrew RM Dunlop, Jeffrey Bruce Wilson, and Colin Burrows in 1961. Ibuprofen always binds noncovalently to a COX enzyme. It has a density of 0.4g/cm3 and is insoluble in water. The melting point of ibuprofen is 74-77° C, and the boiling point is 157 ºC. It contains analgesic and antipyretic in order to reduce pain and fever.
